My Bio
I've been looking at some examples of really excellent work here on deviantART, and I hope that as I practice more and get some constructive feedback, I'll get better and better. My influences are a combination of popular comics, indie comics, fine art training and a little bit of feminist critique. I like drawing human(ish) figures and am acutely aware of how much practice I need drawing miscellaneous inanimate objects. Thanks for visiting my page and I hope you enjoy my stuff.
Demons.

I've been really fascinated with demons lately. I've been interested in human-looking monsters since I was a teenager, but I sort of put away the interest because I thought that I really ought to be trying to make sublime or uplifting things. I'm still interested in that but I get great satisfaction from creating these malevolent, twisted figures.

Blowing up the tiny

I just discovered an intriguing trick that I wouldn't have thought of if I weren't working digitally. I can make a very tiny little sketch - like a gesture sketch - and then scan it and blow it up considerably. This intrigues me because I think I can make very expressive tiny drawings.

Iterate Quickly

I've been inspired by a young artist who I thought was WAY better than me. When I got over the jealousy, I decided to heed his advice and just make things quickly, correcting what I don't like along the way. I've slipped into sticking to a theme for several days as well.
I'm finding that I enjoy making adorable things and horrific things. Though perhaps I will be re-trying human figure drawing soon.
